Egypt carries out biggest execution in Northern Africa’s history

A massive execution was carried out by Egyptian forces to hang 15 prisoners convicted for terrorism. The executions were held in two jails in Egypt, where the prisoners were sentenced by Egyptian court for attacks in Sinai.

IS’s militants created havoc by targeting the country’s defense and interior ministers, at North Sinai airport. An anti-tank missile was launched at the ministers’ helicopter killing one minister’s aide and a pilot.

Over the years, IS terrorists killed many policemen, soldiers and civilians in Sinai.

The execution is marked as the largest execution in the history of North Africa. In 2015, six jihadists were hanged for terrorism.
